'Captain Marvel' Begins Shooting In Los Angeles With Ronan As One Of The Villains

Marvel Studios revealed a lot about CAPTAIN MARVEL in Monday's press release. Set in the 1990's, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel will be battling two opposing alien forces on Earth. Enter Lee Pace and Djimon Hounsou who will be reprising their roles from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. In the first James Gunn movie, both characters meet their demise but they will be resurrected for CAPTAIN MARVEL taking place before the events of the GUARDIANS movie.

The release also reveals the 90s will cover new ground not seen in previous movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which will see Clark Gregg reprising his role as Agent Coulson from SHIELD in that time period, most likely with more hair on his noggin.
