Erik Estrada goes into Ponch mode for Disney's PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE, and he's telling us he was surprised they wanted his voice from his 70s hit show "CHiPs." The Puerto Rican actor also talks about his pet peeve with social media.

Erik Estrada relives his "CHiPs" days by voicing a helicopter character named "Nick Loopin' Lopez" in the PLANES sequel. He's revealing to CineMovie's Sue Evelyn Gil that when he first got the call he was surprised Disney wanted his Ponch voice from the 70s show, but it was Disney so he agreed. "I always wanted to work for Disney, he says in the video interview below.

With the success of "CHiPs" during the 70s, Estrada was often featured in the tabloids, but he says now with the internet, it's a lot worse because there is no privacy through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter in which his every move is documented by others with negative and sometimes positive comments.

PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE opens July 18, 2014.
