'Go For It' Director Self-Finances Film With Credit Cards

Writer/director Carmen Marron produced GO FOR IT, an independent film financed with her credit cards and now her dreams are coming true with a theatrical release by Lionsgate and Pantelion Films.

GO FOR IT, an Audience Award Winner and an Official Selection of the 2010 Chicago International Film Festival, is in theaters May 13.  GO FOR FOR IT director Carmen Marron talks to CineMovie about her struggles of making the film and how GO FOR IT is leading to meetings with Hollywood studio executives.  We caught up with the independent filmmaker at the National Association of Latino Producers conference in April.

This inspirational Hip Hop dance drama follows Carmen, a young woman living in Chicago, who struggles to overcome her fears and follow her dream to be a dancer.
