Based on the legendary character from the graphic novels, Jonah’s violent history is steeped in myth and legend, and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the “other side.” His only human connection is with Lilah (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own.

When cast opposite Josh Brolin in JONAH HEX, The Transformers star didn't feel she had to be faithful to the original material and felt free to shape her character of Lilah, Jonah Hex's love interest as she told CineMovie at a recent publicity event for JONAH HEX.

"It's impossible to please.., and I love them but impossible to please the hard-core comic book fans because they'll never be happy no matter what you do.  I'm a Lord of the Rings fan and I'll go on the forums and they complain like that Frodo is eating the lambest bread outside of Mordor instead of mines of Moria and they get really mad.  And Peter Jackson and company won 30 something Oscars for that movie.  So you can't focus completely on pleasing them because you'll never win and then you'll be excluding a whole other world of people who weren't aware of the comic  in the first place. So I think you have to take some sort of liberties to make it into a live action film or it wouldn't work."

Josh Brolin as Jonah HexDirector Jimmy Hayward and Josh Brolin felt they could take liberties with the source material because the lesser known comic book was not a well-known series like Batman or Superman.  However, Josh Brolin did attempt to stay true to Jonah Hex's disfigured face and crooked mouth.  For the crooked mouth, Brolin had a mouth piece pulling back his mouth with a strap around his neck. "I was not having a good time on set." However there was one thing about the scarred bounty hunter that he couldn't stomach doing throughout the shoot.

"I almost did the pulled down eye like in comic book but I started to get infection within the hour.  I'm not that dedicated. Sounded good on paper."

From paper to the big screen, JONAH HEX starring Megan Fox and Josh Brolin opens in theaters June 18.
