The Hollywood Critics Association announced the hosts for the upcoming 2022 HCA TV Awards on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14. The Daily Show with Trevor Noah correspondent Dulcé Sloan will host the first night which is dedicated Broadcast & Cable while stand-up comic, actor and writer Tig Notaro will host night two dedicated to the streaming categories. The press release also announced Mandy Moore will be honored this year with the Virtuoso Award on Saturday. This Is Us stars Chrissy Metz and Susan Kelechi Watson helped announce the nominees for the 2nd Annual HCA Streaming Awards along with HCA members Kiyra Lynn and Landon Johnson Thursday. AppleTV+'s Severance and Ted Lasso tied with 12 nominations each. Dopesick, Stranger Things, Only Murders in the Building and Squid Game racked up nominations.

The broadcast went silent and words were exchanged but Australian audiences' broadcast was not muted.
