Warner Bros. and director Bong Joon-ho unveiled exclusive footage of the sci-fi flick, MICKEY 17 starring Robert Pattinson at this year's CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Get the details of the footage only shown for the CinemaCon audience that introduces us to Pattinson's nerdy clone Mickey. Pattinson joined Joon-ho on stage. See the photos below.

Based on the 2022 science fiction novel, Mickey7 by Edward Ashton, Academy Award-winning director Bong Joon-ho adapted the book into a film, and he joked on stage in Las Vegas why the film is now titled MICKEY 17. "I kill him (Mickey) 10 times more."

We are introduced to a nerdy Mickey Barnes who volunteers in a clone experiment. However, the Mickey clones meet their untimely demise in different funny scenarios. The clones seem to have the same personalities until Mickey 17 meets Mickey 18, his smarter clone.

Mark Ruffalo plays the villain while Steven Yeun befriends the clueless clone.

Both Pattinson and the Korean director step out of their comfort zone with a comedic tone. Pattinson plays up the comedy as a hapless character, and the director known for socially-thematic works like PARASITE, SNOWPIERCER and OKJA, goes full black comedy.

Pattinson said he's been a fan of Joon-Ho and called the director his "hero." In turn, the director had compliments for the actor as well. "He's such a creative man," Bong Joon-ho said of the actor, and he had great ideas that he implemented in the movie.

MICKEY 17 won't be in theaters until January 31, 2025.
