SALVANDO AL SOLDADO PEREZ or SAVING PRIVATE PEREZ as it will be known as in the U.S. stars Spanish novela star Jaime Camil, Miguel Rodarte, Joaquín Cosio, Jesus Ochoa, and Adal Ramones. In “Saving Private Perez” the life of legendary Julian Perez, the most powerful man in Mexico, takes an unexpected turn when destiny leads him on an incredibly dangerous mission bestowed upon him by the only authority he respects: his mother. Joined by a colorful band of infamous criminals, Julian must risk his life to fulfill his mother’s wish & rescue his brother from the war-ridden bowels of the most treacherousland in the world, IRAQ. In doing so, he proves to her and to himself that the only thing that matters more than money and power is family.
The film was written/directed by Beto Gomez and features original music by Grammy-winning American composer Mark Mothersbaugh with an original song by award-winning regional Mexican band Los Tucanes de Tijuana.
SAVING PRIVATE PEREZ opens in movie theaters September 2, 2011.
Maya Entertainment will be distributing the film in the United States.
