Battle: Los Angeles | Red Riding Hood | Mars Needs Moms | Jane Eyre |
Aliens take over movie theaters this weekend with the sci-fi action film Battle: Los Angeles and the family-friendly Mars Needs Moms while two 19th Century literary characters are modernized for the big screen.
Sophisticated audiences will most likely take in Jane Eyre, a retelling of Charlotte Brontë's classic novel starring Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, The Kids Are Alright) and Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds). Little Red Riding Hood also gets the big screen treatment by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke with sexier characters and monsters in Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seyfried and Gary Oldman
Which film will you be seeing this weekend?
BATTLE: LOS ANGELES
For years, there have been documented cases of UFO sightings around the world - Buenos Aires, Seoul, France, Germany, China. UFO experts and witnesses weigh in on the sightings and the possibility of aliens invading a city like in the movie BATTLE: LOS ANGELES starring Aaron Eckhart and Michelle Rodriguez. What were once just sightings will become a terrifying reality when Earth is attacked by unknown forces.
RED RIDING HOOD
In a story inspired by the famous fairytale, a teenage girl finds herself in extreme jeopardy when her village decides to hunt the werewolf that terrorizes it every full moon.
MARS NEEDS MOMS
Seth Green (Robot Chicken) voices a nine-year-old Milo in a new animated film MARS NEED MOMS, brought to you by the team behind “Disney’s A Christmas Carol” and “The Polar Express.”
In MARS NEED MOMS, Milo's mom (Joan Cusack) is abducted by aliens to steal her mom-ness for their own young. He embarks on an adventure to save his mom. With the help of a tech-savvy, underground earthman named Gribble (Dan Fogler) and a rebel Martian girl called Ki (Elisabeth Harnois), Milo just might find his way back to his mom in more ways than one.
JANE EYRE
In the 19th Century-set story, Jane Eyre (played by Ms. Wasikowska) suddenly flees Thornfield Hall, the vast and isolated estate where she works as a governess for Adele, a child under the custody of Thornfield’s brooding master, Edward Rochester (Mr. Fassbender). The imposing residence – and Rochester’s own imposing nature – have sorely tested her resilience. With nowhere else to go, she is extended a helping hand by clergyman St. John Rivers (Jamie Bell of Focus’ The Eagle) and his family. As she recuperates in the Rivers’ Moor House and looks back upon the tumultuous events that led to her escape, Jane wonders if the past is ever truly past…
