Kellan Lutz ends his run as Twilight's muscle man Emmett, but he takes on another literary character - Tarzan. Lutz says Emmett and Tarzan are very similar in that they are both monkey-men.
In this interview from a press conference in Los Angeles for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, he spoke about getting on all fours to play the iconic jungle boy. At first the Twilight actor was hesitant on being part of another Tarzan movie but after reading the "contemporary and modern" he was sold on the idea. The transition from Twilight to Tarzan was "quite fun" says the actor who last year appeared as the god Poseidon in 2011's Immortals. Playing Tarzan was one of his dream roles as a kid from the mid-west.
in the video, Lutz also reveals quadraped-ing on the motion capture film was the most difficult. He also had to break his habit of walking with lead feet, and given his past as a football player, it took weeks for his body to move more like a ballerina. He was surprised at the research that went into creating this new version of Tarzan, but loved the experience.
Lutz will be seen in the last installment of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 starting November 16 and Tarzan is scheduled for release October 3, 2013.
