Marvel Begins Midnight Ticket Sales for THE AVENGERS on Facebook

UPDATE: THE AVENGERS Facebook page announced the 5 winning cities which have gathered the most fans buying tickets through Fandango for the midnight screening. In return, fans unlocked special content revealed only on Facebook.
So far New York, Chicago, Dallas, Washington D.C. and Los Angeles/Burbank have been announced with an unveil of a new AVENGERS poster featuring Scarlet Johansson as Black Widow. Only one city remains. Fans at the screenings will be rewarded with a limited edition movie poster.

Only eighteen cities will preview the film before the May 4th weekend. Additional cities include Seattle, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Irvine, Anaheim, San Jose, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami, Philadelphia, Boston, and Paramus in New Jersey. For Avengers Facebook page fans not in any of those cities, they are expressing their discontent in droves on the site.Marvel's THE AVENGERS doesn't open for over 50 days until May 4th, but Marvel announced midnight screening tickets will go on sale Monday in select cities with a chance at winning a limited editions movie poster.
"Assemble your friends to see it first and you might score a limited edition movie poster!" Marvel rallied fans to get together and "assemble" to buy advance tickets to the midnight screening on the Avengers Facebook page Sunday morning. No details were given as to what cities the tickets will be available for but fans on Facebook are clamoring to know. Perhaps Marvel will offer more information Monday morning.Fans are already organizing for midnight screenings on group websites such as Meet Up in different cities. The midnight screenings of THE AVENGERS should break records as it is one of the most anticipated films in 2012.
THE AVENGERS opens May 4th.
