Who isn't excited about the return of Superman, the Wolverine, the Kick Ass crew and other superheroes to the big screen this summer season, but CIneMovie is most excited about Guillermo Del Toro's fighting robots in PACIFIC RIM.  And one look at the new trailer which premiered at WonderCon might have you feeling the same way. Watch.

Originally intended for Wondercon only, del Toro released the new footage and more of a preview on Warner Bros.' YouTube Channel with a note from Del Toro himself.
"This was originally intended for only WonderCon, but after listening to so many of you asking for more of the movie online, I think it's time for me to show you more footage. Enjoy, my friends!"
- Guillermo del Toro

On July 12, the Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures film will be released in movie theaters. The original concept has human-manned robots fighting monstrous sea creatures known as Kaiju.  To fight the new threat to mankind, massive robots called Jaegers are created as weapons manned by two pilots whose brains are locked in a neural bridge, which controls the giant robots. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Growing up on Japanese classics such as Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot and the Godzilla movies, this obvious throwback to monster movies makes it a must-see with Guillermo Del Toro at the helm.
