Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan Seeking The Next Karate Kid For New Movie

On Thanksgiving Day, the original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan who starred in the 2010 THE KARATE KID are teaming up for the next KARATE KID movie. The two actors took to social media with the news and to announce that a global open call casting is on the way for anyone who wants to be the next karate kid. Cobra Kai is headed to its sixth and final season. Most likely, the Netflix series will wrap the Daniel LeRusso (Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence's (William Zabka) storyline but no doubt set up the movie, and maybe we'll get a Jackie Chan cameo.
The casting call is for young males from ages 15 to 17, specifically of Chinese descent or mixed race with fluency and English and some Mandarin. "He's scrappy, smart and a skilled martial artist," according to the description on the KarateKidCasting.com site. Sorry, young ladies! It looks like they are excluding females for the role.
