FROZEN 2 filmmakers reveal plot points in the follow up to the Disney animated movie at the D23 Expo in Anaheim. During the panel, three never-before-seen footage were shown to the audience which included some of the new music from returning Oscar®-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Watch our recap below.

Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck return as the directors and writers. Lee, who hosted the Walt Disney Animation Studio portion, invited Buck to join her on stage as the Oscar®-winning duo revealed new details about the upcoming film, which opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22. For one, they told the audience Elsa and Anna's parents would return in perhaps flashbacks as evident in the first clip shown. Queen Iduna sings to her two young daughters. The filmmakers revealed Evan Rachel Wood will voice the queen, and we hear a spectacular voice from Wood in one of the first of seven original songs written for the sequel, “All Is Found.”

In another clip, Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven are playing a hilarious game of charades. At one point Kristoff bends on one knee to propose marriage, but Anna is too distracted to notice in a hilarious sequence.

The audience also saw a sequence from the movie that showcased Elsa’s yearning for answers about the past, culminating in another song, “Into the Unknown.” That song may be the breakout hit like "Let It Go" with Menzel providing a striking rendition with that powerful voice of hers. That scene had remnants of Fantasia which made the clip even more precious.

And to end the D23 panel, Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathon Groff and Josh Gad performed the song “Some Things Never Change" while confetti fell out of the sky.
