PHOTOS: END OF WATCH Takes It To The Community

The LAPD and police work have not always been portrayed in the best of light in Hollywood, but END OF WATCH gave viewers a unique perspective into the lives of two LAPD partners and their relationship while patrolling the dangerous streets of South Central.   END OF WATCH's docu-style places viewers in the front lines of police work.

To celebrate the release, local Los Angeles radio station Exitos 93.9 hosted a community event at the Boyle Heights Farmer's Market on Friday, January 18th.  Free tacos. gifts, and END OF WATCH DVD's were handed out to the public.  The LAPD attended the event in hopes of recruiting community members for their Community Police Academy and promote the "Lock It. Hide it. Keep it." Campaign

The LAPD were more than happy with the movie. "Officers where proud of how they are portrayed in the film. They also liked how the film shows the action scenes and what's involved in their line of duty.  It's a great way for people to see the 'real' job they do," said Margaret Amador, the Co-Chair of the Hollenbeck Police Advisory Board.

Community events like this one in Boyle Heights, according to Amador, is a great outreach program where the public has access to informational programs on safety.  Police outreach programs are constantly trying to change the misperception of the police force.  "We want to change the vision that people have about us, and how we are here to help them, she added.   END OF WATCH certainly humanizes the men and women in uniform.
