THE DARK KNIGHT RISES New Poster: Apocalyptic Finale?

Judging by the new THE DARK KNIGHT RISES poster, the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy will not be a happy one.  Batman, in a ripped bat suit, hangs his head low as Gotham burns to ashes around him with the tagline "A Fire Will Rise."  Is an apocalypse coming to Gotham?

THE AVENGERS Smash Box Office Records

MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS surpassed Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2's record for highest opening weekend to become the highest-grossing debut of all time. Domestically the Marvel blockbuster took in an all-time industry record at $200.3 million, while globally the action film reached $641.8 million.

84th Academy Award Winner's List

84th Annual Academy Awards winners

The handing out of awards at the 84th Annual Academy Awards went as predicted. The race was between HUGO and THE ARTIST but both throwback films tied with 5 Oscars each. There were no big surprises except in the Best Actress category during the Billy Crystal-hosted show.

While most award season favorites taking home the golden statue on the ABC telecast, Academy favorite Meryl Streep won over SAG Best Actress winner Viola Davis for Best Actress for her performance in The Iron Lady.
