Franco thanked the many people who have guided his career and said they, too, deserve their name on the star. The eclectic actor also pointed out the star's placement in front of El Capitan Theater was a perfect location, and he hoped talk show host Jimmy Kimmel would keep his star looking bright. Jimmy Kimmel Live! shoots next door to El Capitan. "I hope Jimmy Kimmel comes and shines my star every morning," he remarked.

James Franco's career has been an interesting one with numerous projects that have baffled fans and the media including a stint on daytime soap opera General Hospital, becoming a professor, his much-maligned hosting duties at the Academy Awards, and small web-based projects. He first came to attention with Freaks and Geeks, and later as James Dean in a TNT movie.
James Franco is curently starring in OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL along with Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Zach Braff.
