Exclusive: New 'The Mandalorian' Season 3 Footage Teases Mandalore and Tons of Other Mandalorians

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni The Mandalorian season 3 Disney Plus

Creators and The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni brought out Pedro Pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow and Grogu who plays the Armorer on stage at the Star Wars Celebration to tease season 3 of the Disney+ show. More new footage was added to the footage previously revealed during the Thursday Lucasfilm panel, and we expect more action with other Mandalorians. Below we recap the footage from the first-ever trailer for the returning Star War Disney+ series and other surprises from The Mandalorian panel.

Pascal’s two award-winning stunt doubles also came out to enjoy the limelight. During The Mandalorian session, Favreau and Filoni also welcomed director Rick Famuyima who directed past episodes. He will now be an executive producer for the third season.

Temuera Morrison also joined the panel with a tribal dance to start off his appearance (watch here) but will his Boba Fett return in The Mandalorian season 3? That went unanswered

Can the same be said of Rosarion Dawson’s Ahsoka who also stopped by The Mandalorian panel along with Chopper and another surprise? The character of Sabine from Star Wars Rebels will make her live-action debut with Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing the character. While the production of Ahsoka is three weeks in, Filioni didn’t come empty-handed. About a minute of footage was teased with familiar settings from Rebels, along with a tease of other animated characters coming along for the ride.

At the end of the panel, they once again showed the teaser trailer for The Mandalorian, and below we have the recap.

The Mandalorian Season 3 Recap

The Armorer excommunicates Din Djarin as a Mandalorian as a consequence of removing his helmet to reveal his true self. Since their homeland of Mandalore has been destroyed, she says there is no redemption for Djarin. However, Djarin vows to seek “forgiveness for his transgression” by going to Mandalore with Grogu regardless.

Bo Katan is teased looking not so pleasant sitting on a throne. Last season, she was not too thrilled that Djarin was the new owner of the Dark Saber.

An old favorite appears in the teaser - a group of Salacious Crumbs look-alikes hang out on a tree making that iconic screeching laughter. Another fan favorite - Babu Frik from RISE OF SKYWALKER has other companions in season 3.

There are few clips of rad-looking space battles as others chase Din through the galaxy with Grogu on his lap.

Then dozens of other Mandalorians show up in various scenarios but it’s not clear if they’re after Din and Grogu or perhaps they are flashbacks to life on Mandalore before it’s destruction.

The final image is that of a destroyed Mandalore. THE END

The Mandalorian returns in the Spring of 2023.
