Ever wonder what happened to the residents living near the Chernobyl blast? The creator behind Paranormal Activity tackles that subject in his new horror film CHERNOBYL DIARIES. Take a look at the scary preview.
Oren Peli, creator and writer of Paranormal Activity, wrote and produced CHERNOBYL DIARIES based on his original story and directed by first-time feature film director Brad Parker. The film follows a group of six young vacationers who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. Ignoring warnings, he takes them into the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor, but a deserted town since the disaster more than 25 years ago. After a brief exploration of the abandoned city, however, the group soon finds themselves stranded, only to discover that they are not alone.While the residents of Chernobyl in the CHERNOBYL DIARIES trailer are not revealed, what are the chances the monsters terrifying the tourists are mutants? Most will make The Hills Have Eyes comparisons but the audience will have to wait for more clues in the next trailer version.
The film's cast includes Jesse McCartney, the only recognizable face in the largely unknown cast (Devin Kelley, Jonathan Sadowski, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Philips and Dimitri Diatchenko).
Alcon Entertainment, FilmNation Entertainment and Oren Peli present, an Oren Peli/Brian Witten Pictures production, “Chernobyl Diaries.” The film opens on May 25, 2012 and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
