Wanted and Night Watch director Timur Bekmambetov helms this re-imagining of Abraham Lincoln's role in history. The Russian director is no stranger to vampire movies. He first got Hollywood's attention with his break out hits Night Watch and Day Watch. And from the looks of the new trailer, Bekmambetov brings his stylized action sequences to the horror flick that will make this one worth waiting for. The added bonus is knowing Tim Burton has given his stamp of approval as one of the producer on the film.
In ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, Lincoln's mother is murdered by a supernatural creature and he sets out to slay the vampires who happen to be in cahoots with slave owners. Newcomer Benjamin Walker plays Honest Abe and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (The Thing) his wife Mary Todd Lincoln. The Devil's Double and Captain America's Dominic Cooper and Rufus Sewell round out the cast.
ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER is set for release on June 22, 2012.
