Summer is full of the usual blow ‘em up and men in capes action, so this movie preview is a breath of fresh air. On stage magicians make money disappear from banks during their show in NOW YOU SEE ME. Now that’s one rabbit trick we’d like to see.
A long list of attractive names headline NOW YOU SEE ME including Jessie Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Common, Michael Kelly, Michael Caine, and Morgan Freeman. Directed by The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco play illusionists “The Four Horseman,” a super-team who pull of a few daring heists during their shows. Their targets are corrupt business leaders like Michael Caine's character and the audience during their performance reap the stolen profits. “The Four Horseman” play a game of cat and mouse against an elite FBI squad that includes Mark Ruffalo, Inglourious Basterds’ Mélanie Laurent with Morgan Freeman pulling out his own tricks out of his sleeve.
Coincidentally, the NOW YOU SEE ME director helmed the 2008 The Incredible Hulk starring Edward Norton and now he’s directing the new Bruce Banner, Mark Ruffalo. Just saying!
Let’s hope this magic trick works out better for NOW YOU SEE ME than it did for Steve Carell and Jim Carrey’s The Incredible Burt Wonderstone when it opens May 31st.
