CineMovie attended the VIP press event for the grand opening of Universal Studios Hollywood’s The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Universal Studios put on quite a show to unveil the West Coast debut of the immersive land which included fireworks, a spectacular light show to the tune of John Williams conducting the LA Phil Harmonic. On Tuesday, Cinemovie attended a special “Sneak Beak” event for the upcoming ANGRY BIRDS movie based upon the popular mobile video game franchise. The one question that the game developer Rovio gets asked most is, “Why are the birds so angry?” Questions like these and the immense popularity of the franchise propelled Sony to create a mythology behind the game. Producer John Cohen shared some snippets from the film and treated us to a hilarious Q&A with funnymen and ANGRY BIRD voice cast Jason Sudekis, Bill Hader, Josh Gad, and Danny McBride (video below).

I think it’s safe to say that no 3D film has been able to accomplish what James Cameron did with Avatar. Blending live action with CGI is an art form that requires time, a lot of love, and heaps of money. Luckily for Disney, they have a ton of that. They’ve employed director Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Chef) to spearhead a live action remake of THE JUNGLE BOOK that takes the most current digital technology and pushes it to it’s limits--Watch out James Cameron! At a recent sneak peak CineMovie attended for THE JUNGLE BOOK, Favreau and visual effect’s supervisor Rob Legato showed us exclusive scenes from the movie and demonstrated why the films digital effects and 3D experience will soon become the standard in Hollywood cinema.
