When California girl Susan Murphy is unwittingly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day, she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall. Alerted to the threat of this new monster, the military jumps into action and Susan is captured and secreted away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of other monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus.

Spike Lee's first epic film "Miracle at St. Anna" hits the big screen September 26, 2008.  "Miracle at St. Anna" chronicles the story of four American black soldiers who are members of the US Army known as the Buffalo Soldiers stationed in Tuscany, Italy during World War II.  They find themselves trapped behind enemy lines and separated from their unit after one of them risks their life to save an Italian boy.

Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler--cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through his lifespan with no control. Despite the fact that Henry's travels force them apart with no warning, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

MOVIE REVIEW

They say that love is all about timing; being at the right place at the right time is everything. How often have we met someone and the timing was all wrong? The object of our desire was already involved, or emotionally they weren’t ready. Or, maybe we were the ones that weren’t ready. When that happens, love slips away and its promise goes unfulfilled.


The Time Traveler’s Wife is the story of a couple who are in love. The woman, played by Rachel McAdams, lives her life in a linear fashion, while her love, played by Eric Bana, pops in and out of her life, throughout. He appears at different ages and with different sets of memories, and it is up to her to organize their life and make it bearable. This love story is nearly impossible, but the desire between them is so strong that they are willing to meet all obstacles.


I don’t know what the book was like, but I found this film very melancholy. On one hand you have a woman of faith, willing to make the sacrifices. And on the other hand you have a man, who loves her so much, that he’s willing to do anything to keep from disappointing her. It is a relationship built on compromises and commitments, and disappointments. And it’s a story about making the best of the time that you have. It is a timely story indeed.

Who is Don Ready? Salesman? Lover? Song Stylist? Semi-professional dolphin trainer? Ready is all of the above - except for a dolphin trainer. When he's asked to help save an ailing local car dealership from bankruptcy, Ready and his ragtag crew descend on the town of Temecula like a pack of coyotes on a basket full of burgers. Selling, drinking, selling and going to strip clubs is their stock and trade. And they do it well. What Don doesn't expect is to fall in love and find his soul (cue heartfelt piano).
