Sony Pictures announced the historic studio lot in Culver City, CA will host movies in a drive-in setting. Sony will be screening their library of iconic movies like KARATE KID, GHOSTBUSTERS, MEN IN BLACK and most recent films like ONCE UPON A TIME…IN HOLLYWOOD, BLOODSHOT, BABY DRIVER, SPIDER-MAN HOMECOMING and FAR FROM HOME among others. Solstice Studios has once again moved Russell Crowe's thriller UNHINGED to August 21 in U.S. movie theaters. The studios' announcement touts their film as the first new release for American movie theaters since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. UNHINGED already opened in Germany mid-July, and plans to roll out the movie to Australia, New Zealand and the UK this weekend.

Warner Bros. announced Monday their movie JUST MERCY will be available on all platforms for the month of June as part of the discussion around systemic racism and the black lives matter movement. The movie starring Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson is based on the true story of a wrongly accused black man on death row who was later acquitted thanks to activist lawyer Bryan Stevenson. JUST MERCY is a compelling film that should anger everyone over the social inustice the judicial system enacts on black men too often.
UPDATE: Zack and Deborah Synder told the Hollywood Reporter the new cut may be a four-movie or cut into episodes for the new streaming service. HR also has sources claiming Warner Bros. is budgeting $20 to $30 million for post production which sounds like it needs a bit of work which explains the 2021 release.
Since the 2017 release of DC's JUSTICE LEAGUE, fans and cast members have been campaigning for Warner Bros. to release the Zack Synder cut of JUSTICE LEAGUE, and it seems to have paid off with Synder's version coming to HBO Max in 2021.

The Walt Disney Studios released new dates for just some of their films but not all.
