Dreamworks Animation hosted a special sneak peek at the Burbank (Los Angeles) studios for the Kung Fu Panda sequel and Shrek spin-off with funnyman Jack Black and the charming Antonio Banderas in attendance.

Dreamworks Makes Mini-Man Cave For Guillermo Del Toro

Director Guillermo del Toro will be tackling his first animated film with the 3D stop motion adaptation of the children’s classic Pinocchio.  Before venturing into his first animated project, the Hellboy and Blade II filmmaker sought out the help of animation expert Dreamworks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg.

The Dreamworks honcho more than obliged Guillermo de Toro by offering him a first-hand experience in the computer-generated world of filmmaking.  He hired the master of horror for Dreamworks’ upcoming films Kung Fu Panda 2 and Puss In Boots.

Online sites reported that Serbian director Emir Kusturica is helming a movie on the Mexican  Robin Hood with Johnny Depp taking on the role and Salma Hayek co-starring. However, during a  press conference for his animated film RANGO on Saturday, Johnny Depp revealed the project "is  up in the air," for him as he is facing a "dilemma" in playing one of the "great heroes of Mexico".  While he admires his friend and filmmaker Kusturica, he feels he is not the right choice to  play the leader of the 1910 Mexican revolution. "I feel like it should be played by a Mexican  not some mug from Kentucky.  I feel very strongly about that."

Newcomer Teresa Palmer prepared for her action scenes as a leather-clad alien fighter in I AM NUMBER FOUR by watching Angelina Jolie movies.

Teresa Palmer plays Number 6 in I AM NUMBER FOUR, a mysterious women with powers on the hunt for Number 4, an alien from the planet Lorien (Alex Pettyfer), who is hiding on Earth from the Mogadorians.  To play a warrior, the Australian actress who last appeared in The Sorcerer's Apprentice (Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel), referenced Angelina Jolie for the role.  She describes Angelina Jolie as the epitome of the on screen "female warrior." "She really encapsulates what it is to be a female warrior.  I used all of that for Number 6."  She watched Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Wanted a couple of times to get a feel of a female action hero before her audition.

Since Twilight, has the actor been offered mostly the resident bad guy parts?  Cam has received those scripts but he doesn't mind.  "I don't care if I'm stereotyped as long as they're giving me jobs -- I'll be happy," he told CineMovie. " Being a bad guy is something I love to do."

New Leading Man Garrett Hedlund Feels No Pressure on TRON: LEGACY

Garrett Hedlund stars in Tron: Legacy

Garrett Hedlund has played opposite Brad Pitt (Troy), Mark Wahlberg (Four Brothers), and Lindsay Lohan (Georgia Rule) in a supporting role but the Minnesota-born actor transitions to leading man status in TRON: LEGACY out December 17.

Speaking to CineMovie from Montreal, Canada where he is currently on location for Walter Salles' On The Road starring Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst, the TRON: LEGACY star says he doesn't feel any pressure as the movie nears its opening weekend. "My mind is on shooting this film (On The Road). That's all I'm focused on right now," said the 28-year-old actor who plays Sam Flynn in the Tron Sequel.  He is anxious, however, for audiences to see the effort director Joseph Kosinski and his team at Digital Domain put into the film and hopes they "appreciate" all the hard work that went into making TRON: LEGACY.
