THE ARTIST Silent Winner At 2012 Critics' Choice Movie Awards

The silent French film The Artist was the big winner Thursday night at the 17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards. The Artist took home four honors with Best Picture, Best Director, Best Score and Best Costume Design. As expected, George Clooney (The Descendants) and The Help's Viola Davis took home their trophy for Best Actor and Actress from the VH-1 award show.

Comedians Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer hosted the show which also gave out statues to Bridesmaids for best comedy movie, Drive as best action movie, Rango as best animated feature, Moneyball as best adapted screenplay, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo for best editing and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 for best makeup and sound.

Hugo director Martin Scorsese received the 2012 Critics' Choice Music+Film Award which honors a filmmaker every year that has contributed to the cinematic experience through use of source and original music.
