The final chapter of the boy wizard topped the U.S. box office charts for 2011 followed by the third Transformers movie. Despite the $9.9 billion intake at the movies, the box office tally was lower than the previous year's $10.6 billion total gross. Five-hundred and eighty-four films were released in 2011, fifty more films than in 2010.
While Hollywood may be worried that the recession is affecting the box office, these numbers are still pretty high. If only they knew how to control their budgets, films might be more profitable.
