Universal CityWalk Launches 2012 Holiday Season

It's that time again. Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles launches the holiday season with their annual tree lighting Tuesday, November 20th at 5:30pm.
>Universal CityWalk is going high-tech with their Christmas tree and display with the" 5 Towers" -- a state-of-the-venue with a dazzling multimedia light display and the illumination of a towering custom-built Christmas tree—the first-of-its-kind in North America—choreographed in unison to hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights glistening throughout the plaza.
The jubilant tree lighting ceremony will feature singing sensations Drake Bell, Pentatonix and Human Nature who will later join a host of musical acts performing on “5 Towers” for a segment to air as part of The Hollywood Christmas Parade special.The event will come to life with the help of Santa Claus, Councilmember Tom LaBonge, kids from L.A. Family Housing, part of Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Discover A Star” Foundation, and recording artists from the 2012 Hollywood Christmas Parade.
Live holiday entertainment will headline at “5 Towers” with a diverse line-up of music acts performing a selection of both contemporary and classic holiday hits with the merry sounds of British “X-Factor” alum, Cher Lloyd (November 23); Chris Mann of NBC’s “The Voice” (November 24); pop crooner Conor Maynard (November 25); YouTube’s rising star, Ryan Beatty (December 1); the all-female, Grammy Award-winning group, Mariachi Divas (December 2); rocker Juliet Simms of NBC’s “The Voice” (December 8); Petree & Friends, featuring Paige Bryan and NBC’ s “The Voice,” Jamar Rogers (December 15); the family band, Cimorelli (December 16); and the Latin American sounds of Sajama performing on Christmas Day (December 25). All performances begin at 6:00 p.m.
