Eva Longoria directs the sort of true story of a Frito Lay janitor who claims to have been the genius behind Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Richard Montañez (played by Jessie Garcia) worked his way up from a janitor to a Frito Lay executive. The trailer chronicles his effort to bring his idea to fruition.
Despite the LA Times article that disputes Montañez's account, a janitor who worked his way to the top is an inspirational story. How did he rise from the ranks if not for a brilliant idea? The corporation may be behind the smear of Montañez for their greedy purposes, so it's totally plausible he did give them the idea but failed to give him full credit for legal and financial reasons. As an employee, any successful idea or product is owned by the company, not the hired gun.
