'The New Mutants' Trailer Fits More Into The Horror Genre Than X-Men Formula

Originally slated for a 2019 release, Disney and FOX have finally released a new trailer for the next installment in the X-MEN series with THE NEW MUTANTS. In the new preview, the mutants describe their first time, and it's not what you think. This is far from Professor X's kind approach to dangerous mutants.

"Game of Thrones'" Maisie Williams, "Stranger Things'" Charlie Heaton, and Anya Taylor Joy are just some of the new mutants, and in the new trailer they are held in an asylum-like hospital but Alicia Braga's character may not have their best interest at heart.

The new film has a more of horror-feel unlike the other X-MEN movies, and that's what it will most likely need to make up for the last horror picture show that was THE DARK PHOENIX.

THE NEW MUTANTS arrives in movie theaters April 3.

Official Synopsis

20th Century Fox in association with Marvel Entertainment presents “The New Mutants,” an original horror thriller set in an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.
