Judging from the new trailer for THE LEGEND OF HERCULES, the Kellan Lutz movie seems to be part Gladiator, part Clash of the Titans with 300 sprinkled in. Preview the Twilight actor as Hercules.
Kellan Lutz is the demi-god Hercules, the mythical Greek hero - the son of Zeus. The muscle-bound actor already has Greek god under his belt, having played Poseidon in Immortals (Henry Cavill). Directed by Renny Harlin who's been MIA for awhile, the large scale production is heavy on the CGI and like 300, probably shot largely on a green screen, but it looks visually stunning. THE LEGEND OF HERCULES has the half-god, half-man being betrayed by his stepfather King who exiles him into slavery to separate him from his true love. While in exile, he becomes a gladiator and wins over people through his many wins. With his new army and newly discovered super powers, he sets on an odyssey to overthrow the King and restore peace.
THE LEGEND OF HERCULES opens January 10, 2014.
