Steve Carell and Keira Knightley make for an odd pairing in the end of days comedy SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD. Watch the trailer preview.

In SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD, its armeggedon as a large asteroid heads toward Earth and Keira Knightley and Steve Carell have three weeks to find their loved ones. Meantime in space, Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis are drilling a hole in the asteroid to save the Earth. Sorry wrong movie.  Far from a Michael Bay movie, Keira Knightley and Steve Carell's dark comedy centers on two neighbors who find themselves alone as the announcement of Earth's doom looms.

Will the British actress and the former "The Office" star make a love connection by the end of the movie or merely stay  friends as the movie's title suggest?  From the preview, it doesn't look like this one will be a conventional romantic comedy. Otherwise would Knightley have joined the cast?  Known for her period costume dramas, this is Keira Knightley's first foray in the American comedy genre. Interesting enough, she kept her British accent for her character.  It will interesting to see how the pairing comes off on screen when the movie opens on June 22.   

Adam Brody, Rob Corddry, and Derek Luke also star in the comedy directed by Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist's Lorene Scafaria.
