The notorious drug cartel jefe Pablo Escobar is a popular subject matter for another movie with Javier Bardem playing the Colombian crime boss. In this retelling of his dramatic downfall focuses on his love affair with Colombian journalist Virginia Vallejo played by Bardem's real-life wife Penelope Cruz. Peter Sarsgaard also stars in the English-language film.
