Steven Soderbergh's CONTAGION will most likely send audiences into an anti-bacterial shopping spree. Warner Bros. held a special screening of CONTAGION last week to further bring home the reality of viral epidemics with a panel of specialists including La Doctora Aliza.

Health correspondent and editor of Vidaysalud.com, Dr. Aliza Lifshitz (La Doctora Aliza hosted a special event in Los Angeles with a panel of experts after the screening of CONTAGION starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow and Laurence Fishburne. Univision Radio correspondent, and health contributor to Ser Padres and People en Espanol contributor was joined on stage by Dr. Laurene Mascola (Chief of the Acute Communicable Disease Control Program) and Dr. Michelle Parra (Director of LA County Department of Public Health's Immunization Program) and moderated by Daniela Ganoza (Primer Impacto correspondent).
Dr. Aliza was excited to stand behind the film as a vehicle to better educate the Latino community on health-related issues, such as the benefits of vaccinations, the importance of obtaining health information from reputable sources and realities of viral epidemics.
Needless to say, there was no hand shaking at the event. CONTAGION is currently playing in movie theaters.
