Due to the actor strike, Disney and Lucasfilm opted to hold a Star Wars fan event for the Ahsoka premiere in Hollywood, Disneyland, Disney World, San Francisco and New York City, and the Hollywood event was a blast. Many of the attendees dressed in costume, and brought their lightsabers. Disney also handed out white light sabers to those without a Jedi weapon. Dave Filoni is in full control as the creator, head writer and directs the first episode of the Lucasfilm spin-off on Disney+. Rosario Dawson stars as Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo is Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is Hera Syndulla and the late Ray Stevenson plays Baylan Skoll. Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Lars Mikkelsen and Eman Esfandi also star.
The episodes are directed by Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.
Dave Filoni is the head writer and executive produces along with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer.
