Paul Walker is on the big screen for the last time in FURIOUS 7. Watching the late actor in his last performance reminded us of his charismatic nature on screen and off specifically during one of our last interviews with the 40-year-old. We sat down with him two weeks before his tragic death in November of 2013, and he gave us insight into his upbringing and his family which he clearly adored. During our interview for his film HOURS, Paul Walker didn’t come off as a movie star, but an everyday man having a conversation about work. Paul was bare foot during the interview, which made sense for a guy who is very casual about his Hollywood status and humble about his working-class background. Those qualities are rare in an actor so it made quite an impression on me, and when the news hit that he was gone from this world, it made the loss feel worse.
In our sit down, Walker talks about his work ethic and and how he hates to waste time on set unlike some of his previous co-stars. That work ethic was instilled in him by his father who made him learn a trade every summer. He hints that not everybody in Hollywood follows that work ethic. Growing up in the San Fernando Valley also exposed him to many Latinos, which explains why he’s starred with so many Latina actresses such as his HOURS co-star Genesis Rodriguez, his Fast & Furious' friends Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster, and also Jessica Alba and Zoe Saldana.
