Anthony Mackie stalked Marvel for five years for a role in one of their franchises. He’s telling CineMovie he pitched them playing Panther or Luke Cage, characters from the Marvel comics . Now that he’s playing the Falcon in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, he’s targeting the Hulk as his next partner as a dynamic duo.
“It’s dream come true,” says Anthony Mackie of his role in the new Captain America sequel as Steve Rogers new partner. THE WINTER SOLDIER star sat down with Kelly Blanco in Miami to tell of his long journey to the big screen in a Marvel movie. The long-time comic book fan lobbied Marvel for a role for five years and when they finally called back it was to offer him the Sam Wilson aka The Falcon character.
During our Miami sit down, Mackie also says he was looking forward to wearing spandex as do all the superheroes because he was in the best shape of his life, but then he got the bad news that he would in fact not be wearing the stretchy material. Our loss as well as Kelly put it.
