DOPE received critical acclaim when it debut at Sundance this year, and now the movie executive produced by Sean Combs, Pharrell Williams, Forest Whitaker, comes to movie theaters starring Shameik Moore and directed by Rick Famuyiwa. CineMovie sat down with the two to talk about the movie and the importance of the music to the story.
In DOPE, Malcolm (Moore) is a smart kid living in a tough neighborhood with aspirations to attend Harvard, but life in the hood isn't exactly conducive to a higher education until one event changes the course of his life.
