KISS frontman Gene Simmons ventures into Hollywood with his first film under his new production banner, partnering with veteran Hollywood director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Deep Blue Sea) on an action-packed disaster flick, Deep Water. The rock icon shares that he’s a lifelong movie fan and opens up about what gives a film that “magic” touch. Harlin adds that, for him, compelling characters—not just spectacle—are what truly drive the story.
Starring Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley, the film follows a commercial flight that crashes into the Pacific Ocean, only for the survivors to discover they’re not alone and must fight to stay alive in shark-infested waters. DEEP WATER crashes into movie theaters on Friday, May 1.
