Ridley Scott's follow-up to GLADIATOR starring Russell Crowe lives up to the original while paving its own way with intriguing new characters played by Paul Mescal, Connie Nielsen, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, Pedro Pascal, and Fred Hechinger. All the characters have shining moments especially Washington's surprising turn as a Roman subject that will give you TRAINING DAY vibes. My only complaint may be with some of the CGI work but overall, it delivered the goods.
