Guillermo Del Toro Praises 'Rise of the Guardians' Director (Video)

Hellboy and Pacific Rim director Guillermo Del Toro took on a executive producer role on Dreamworks' RISE OF THE GUARDIANS' visually-stunning 3D animated film, but he says director Peter Ramsey hit all the right notes from visuals to characters, and didn't need any help from  the live-action helmer.

Guillermo Del Toro praises RISE OF THE GUARDIANS first-time director Peter Ramsey for his work on the animated Dreamworks film.  Ramsey's visual style and approach was very close to his sensibilities, and he admits he shed some tears every single time he watched the film.

Del Toro, whose sci-fi action film Pacific Rim opens July 12, 2013, started consulting with Dreamworks in early 2011 starting with Puss n' Boots and Kung Fu Panda 2 after he asked Dreamworks honcho Jeffrey Katzenberg for tour of their animation facilities.  Since then he went on to consult on Madagascar 3 and moved up to executive producer.  Del Toro took interest in animation for a much darker re-telling of the Pinocchio, but that project may be on hold.  We're sure he'll get his hands an another animated project.  We can't wait.
