As the Twilight Saga comes to an end for Kristen Stewart, the 22-year-old actress says she would like to explore roles that “dig a little deeper.”
Stewart says a question that she is constantly being asked now that the BREAKING DAWN PART 2 ends the Twilight Saga is “What is next for the Twilight star?” It’s an answer she can’t supply because she is still figuring it out herself, but she can say for certain that she does not play character roles. It’s just not in her to play unusual or eccentric, and doesn't understand actors who do .
“Yeah, it’s always a pretty impulsive thing because you can read a fantastic script that it might not be in you to do. One thing that I don’t think I do is play characters. As soon as you start claiming that you can be someone that you’re not -- you’re crazy.”So don’t expect the Snow White and Huntsman actress to pull out a Les Grossman-like character a la Tom Cruise in Tropic Thunder anytime soon. She admits to signing up for roles similar to herself, but recently she has felt the need to “dig deeper” and go outside her comfort zone.
“I think scripts can really surprise you. You go, “Wow, I did not know that that I would respond to something like that. I did not know that I had that in me.” And so, the process of making the movie is just finding that and digging a little deeper. I think that maybe that’s why I’ve played parts that are really similar to me because I’m young. I wanted to explore things that were more apparent to me. Now, I’m getting to the point that I want to dig a little deeper. You can shock yourself a little bit with this, and that’s what I would like to do.”CineMovie asked the BREAKING DAWN PART 2 star if she would open to starring another franchise. “I think it depends,” she answered, but she can’t say for sure without really knowing what the project is. If the project required a commitment like Twilight, however, she would have to say “no” for now especially because she is not a fan of comic book series or other material that lends itself to that kind of commitment.
“My guess is that probably not. It’s just really rare to find something that lends itself to that. I would also probably want to know where it was going. There are a few stories… I don’t know. I’ve never really been a huge fan of any comic book. Yeah, as of now, probably not, but never say never.”Stewart’s next role already has the web buzzing for her nude scene in Walter Salle’s adaptation On The Road and may be the role where she gets to dig a little deeper into character.
