Robert Pattinson: 'Should've Drank Vodka Not Beer'

Robert-Pattinson-video-interview
Robert Pattinson may be glad his 5-year stint as Edward Cullen is coming to an end, but he does have one regret.   The British actor joked if he could go back to when he first filmed Twilight, he would've given up his six-pack of beer for a six-pack of abs.

Robert Pattinson sat down with press at a Los Angeles hotel in early November to talk about the last installment of the Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Part 2.    Kristen Stewart's real-life boyfriend answered some silly questions from press outlets, and often times didn't know how to respond to questions obviously fishing for remarks about this personal romance with the leading lady.  He did, however, reveal a couple of things about himself.

Looking back, the Twilight star brought up a funny tidbit about his nonexistent six-pack.  For his bare-chested scene in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Robert worked on a six-pack to little success in his mind.  During the publicity tour for the sequel, he brought up the running joke about being pale and not being able to get those cut lines. In retrospect , Pattinson should've picked up the vodka bottle instead of beer mug starting on the first film, he claimed.   "Try to get a six-pack as early as possible because you’ll be a much more successful actor. "

He also revealed that the English press are much harder on him, but thinking back he was the harshest critic himself on celebrities. "I get a lot more abuse in England.  That’s just a general English attitude.  I did the same thing to famous people.  It’s just your instinct," he says.

Pattinson's instincts also tell him that he doesn't fear getting typecast after The Twilight Saga.  He's proven that with roles in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis and Bel Ami.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is out in movie theaters.
