Tyler Perry leaves the muumuu behind for a more serious role in ALEX CROSS, a psychological thriller starring Matthew Fox. Perry takes over the role from Morgan Freeman as a younger Dr. Alex Cross, and in this clip we get a bit of backstory behind the homicide detective.

While we're used to seeing Tyler Perry go off the deep end as Madea, ALEX CROSS is no joke. His character is pushed to the limits of his sanity playing cat and mouse with Picasso (Fox), a skilled serial killer out to torture his victims.
