Michael Peña and Jake Gyllenhaal are buddy cops in David Ayer's END OF WATCH. In this clip from the crime drama, the two LAPD partners joke around about the ways of Latinos.
Officers Brian Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Mike Zavala (Peña) would each take a bullet for their partner. In this scene, Zavala jokes to Gyllenhaal that he should find himself a Mexican girlfriend. Gyllenhaal jokes about having to go to a quinceñera every weekend if he hooked up with a Latina, and hearing stories every morning. Gyllenhaal even attempts to mimic the tone of a Latino person.
From the writer of Training Day, The Fast and the Furious, and S.W.A.T, END OF WATCH is a riveting action thriller that puts audiences at the center of the chase like never before. In END OF WATCH, the two LAPD officers bust a drug house and known Mexican cartel member unknowingly, and are marked for death.
