At the D23 Expo, Disney gave fans a quick look at Emma Watson as Belle and her yellow ballgown in the live action version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST during a sizzle reel of their upcoming films. Emma Watson made an appearance via a message from the London set in which she tells the audience of her dream come true in playing the famous Disney princess. Besides her message, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, Sean Bailey confirmed the cast and that the new fairytale is definitely a musical.
Fans are eagerly awaiting to see the Harry Potter star as Belle in her yellow dress. Ten seconds of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST were previewed during Disney's sizzle reel in which Belle is coming down a flight of windy stairs looking radiant and elegant in a subtle yellow dress. The iconic ballgown is without a large crinoline in favor of a more modern look. We also see her kneeling and looking up at someone not in the shot.
During the D23 presentation, Disney also presented behind the scenes footage with Luke Evans as Gaston. Evans also taped a special message with Josh Gad, and both sung a few bars from one of the classic BEAUTY AND THE BEAST songs.
