Fast and Furious 8 Making History in Cuba

Fast & Furious 8 in Cuba Michelle Rodriguez, F Gary Gray, Vin Diesel

The saga of the FAST & FURIOUS crew continues with movie number 8, and the production is breaking new ground as they are the first big budget film to shoot in Cuba since the embargo was partially lifted. Directed by STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON’s F. Gary Gray, Universal Pictures shared a video with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez shooting on the streets of Havana for FAST & FURIOUS 8.

The video was shared on social media, and it shows the excited Havana residences playing extras in the background. The scenery should make for an interesting backdrop for fast cars. Vin Diesel revealed New York City may be the other setting for the next installment of the popular franchise with most of the cast returning with the exception of Paul Walker. This is the first film not featuring the actor who tragically died during the making of FURIOUS 7.

Jason Statham is rumored to return and Charlize Theron has joined the cast as the villain. Scott Eastwood also joins the rat race.
