Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia 2 has officially made box office history. The blockbuster sequel has become the highest-grossing animated Motion Picture Association (MPA) film of all time globally, surpassing Inside Out 2 and cementing its place as the #9 biggest film in worldwide box office history.

Since its theatrical debut on November 26, 2025, Zootopia 2 has amassed an astounding $1.703 billion globally, with $390 million domestic and $1.313 billion internationally. The film also holds the title of the #1 global MPA release of 2025 and the highest-grossing MPA release ever in China, where it has earned $619 million to date.
Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard and produced by Yvett Merino, the sequel has been embraced by audiences worldwide, earning a 96% “Verified Hot” Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes and an A CinemaScore. It also opened to a record-breaking $559.5 million globally in just five days, becoming the highest global animated opening of all time and the fastest animated — and PG-rated — film to reach $1 billion.
