In today's #MeToo movement, private investigator John Shaft's ways probably wouldn't fly but if you pair the old school with a millenial Shaft - you have yourself a hilarious action comedy. The story exploits the conflict among the three generations, and it pays off but you also have an endearing quality to the very violent movie.
Jackson's costars include the OG Shaft Richard Roundtree, Jesse T. Usher as Shaft Jr., DARK PHOENIX's Alexandra Shipp and Luna Lauren Velez.
