Martin Freeman as Bilbo in THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY not surprisingly took number one at the box office with an estimated $84.78 million. Did fans enjoy Peter Jackson's return to Middle Earth?  Watch fans' movie reviews.

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY failed to reach $100 million over the first weekend, but it did break December opening record numbers. THE HOBBIT beat The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King's opening in 2003 ($73.3).  Box Office Mojo reports 49 percent of box office receipts came from 3D showings.  Numbers for the high-frame-rate 3D viewings have not been released, but fans had a lot to say about the 48 second frame rate.

CineMovie gave away VIP Tickets in 6 cities nationwide and here is what our winners had to say about their first experience watching the movie.
