While the Japanese trailer is a minute shorter than the English version, the foreign-language preview shows unseen footage of Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and a couple of seconds of Robert Downey, Jr. driving some kind of special vehicle. It also starts with a short clip from the Avengers, which seems to be the catalyst for Tony Stark's problems in the next installment of IRON MAN 3.
Marvel did the same with the Avengers in a Japanese trailer version that offered extra scenes earlier this year. Why wouldn't Marvel give the Japanese fans an extra sneak peek of Robert Downey, Jr. fourth outing as the eccentric millionaire with the robotic suit. After all, that country gave us Godzilla and Johnny Sokko and His Flying Robot.
